This is a quote made by
The Founder of The Salvation Army
that has touched us very deeply.
In fact, we had this quote placed on the
Farewell Service bulletin at our last service in Elmira.
"While women weep, as they do now, I'll fight;
While little children go hungry, I'll fight;
While men go to prison, in and out,
in and out, as they do now, I'll fight;
While there is a drunkard left,
while there is a poor lost girl upon the streets,
Where there remains one dark soul
without the light of God--
I'll fight, I'll fight to the very end!"
General William Booth
those of you who know PB well won't be surprised to learn that,
when he first read this quote while standing in the
bookstore at Territorial HQ tears flowed freely
as God used this statement to confirm His calling!
here are some links to various Salvation Army sites that may help
some of you get to know the Army a little better.
